Based on an industry-wide relationship which has developed over many years, the company prides itself on its innovation in canmaking plants. Gareth Wood is the lead project engineer on this site, and says: “We are proud to have been awarded a significant recycling system project for a cutting-edge aluminium beverage can plant based in the UK; at 56,000sqm, this plant is the largest canmakingfactory in the UK with the capacity to house up to six canmaking lines.”
Adrian Snelson, Sales Director, adds: “We have also been awarded contracts for supplying aluminium scrap recycling systems for new canmaking plants in the Czech Republic, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, and other additional lines for our clients across the globe.”
Wood says all of the company’s systems are bespoke to a client’s specifications. “One large system we have implemented for a client across two sites in the UK and Czech Republic included multiple scrap aluminium conveying lines from the cuppers, trimmers, and whole can collection which all fed back to a central baler complex for weighing and baling.” Snelson adds: “Once baled, the aluminium blocks are automatically conveyed, picked up by a robot and stacked using a pallet-less stacking system; the accumulated bales are then strapped and moved along the system for the journey back to the furnace for recycling.
This significantly contributes to the fulfilment of our clients’ sustainability goals – we are proud to be helping our client work to achieve a 90% global recycling rate for aluminium beverage cans, bottles, and cups by 2030.”
